of the world while they slobber

on their own cashmere cheeks?

That hold the hands of innocent

Wanderers in the hallway

On their voyage to the cafeteria?

That sanitize the slurs made

By voices growing huskier, voices

That learned those words somewhere?

That desperately dance for the attention

of eyes wandering to screens in pockets

Or graphite grinding on laminated wood?

That love polyamourously- with regard

only for the quality of heart that these

Soldiers carry into the war they've been drafted into?
