Our Mission

Greenspring Review’s mission is to showcase the diverse and creative talent of Stevenson’s student body, alumni, and faculty, encouraging self-expression. The magazine publishes original fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, spoken word, artwork, photography, film, and music.

About the Magazine

The Greenspring Review  is a student-led organization with faculty advisors that is primarily managed by those in the English Language and Literature Department who are experienced in the topics-based curriculum of all the various types of classic and underrepresented texts and voices. We recommend our staff and members to have taken English 256 Introduction to Digital Publishing, or other courses were they can analyze poetry, fiction, and media. Taking our English courses allow students to analyze writers from Shakespeare to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie with faculty who are published authors and nationally recognized scholars.

Creative and professional writing courses such as Style and Editing, Writing Video Games and Interactive Stories, and Intro to Digital Publishing develop the creative and digital skills that make writers versatile and attractive in today’s digital market. Departmental events, including our Visiting Writer Series, career forums, and off-campus excursions provide hands-on learning and bring students into contact with successful professionals in their fields.

This allows The Greenspring Review to have the qualified skill sets to review and present an opportunity for students to apply their interests in a diverse range of creative arts in literature, professional writing works, photography, and media. Through our submission process, we’re able to provide students valuable and informative feedback on how to better enhance and revise their pieces of work.

Before we were The Greenspring Review we were THIS Magazine. You can view our archive here.

Before we were online, we were the print magazine Spectrum run on our former Greenspring Campus.
