Where I Am From

I am from a place of silence.

I didn’t have much of a voice,

everything that happened in my life was decided for me.

I could not stand being quiet.

I am from a place where silence is deafening.

When I have everything to say,

I say nothing.

The speechlessness speaks volumes.

Now I choose my words carefully.

I make every sentence count.

So when I speak,

I am heard
