A family portrait hangs on the wall, It’s recent and has all of us in it. All three sisters, both brothers, Laughing at dad’s ridiculous jokes. Behind us my nephews are playing While mom brings out the food. Everyone is here, it feels unreal. Maybe because it is. The sound of screaming takes me back the vibration of slamming doors knocks the portrait off the wall, it shatters. each of my siblings start to vanish, until I’m sitting alone with ten year old phots of all of us together.
