How do I stop time—
Stop the sand from slipping
through my fingers?
To pick the grains from midair
putting them back in my hands
where they are safe.
The sand you’re made of
mixes with the tiny stones
Composing my being.
What do I do
when the stones begin to fall too?
Caleb, I really enjoyed reading your piece and I felt like I could connect with what you were talking about. I think we all sometimes wish we could stop time or that we had more time in life. I also like the connection your made in terms of the sand in your fingers and the sand that composes our being with the stones.
