a girl's silhouette in low light

when I die

I hope

they talk about

my love for

cotton candy skies

the cheapest iced coffee

and flowers

that face the sun

when I die

I hope

they remember

how I loved

to learn

to paint

and others

so much

it hurt

when I die

I hope

they smile

because

I lived my life

not dictated

by

calories in celery

by

numbers on a scale

by

sizes on mom jeans

I hope

they laugh

because

I changed the world

I never wanted

to be alive in

I hope

for good things

because

at the end of my life

I want to be remembered

for more

than

a three-digit code

that couldn’t tell you anything

about my life
