Man must die in order to live It’s a hallowed truth in turn Convulsing around the fire As he watches his own world burn   Now I’m searching through meaning in paperbacks Looking for God in Man Shuffling through the mail again For an invitation to the Promised Land   And I know that it won’t be much longer Before the tempestuous waters roar And claim all of my refuge and haven Locked in the promise of 1854   Man must die in order to live Because death is peace and salvation From mother’s sin, to father’s gin It leaves you with nothing but anticipation
